Privacy policy
Last updated 23 July 2026
This policy explains what personal information Beyond The Bottle collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We’ve kept it plain, because you should be able to understand it without a lawyer. In short: we collect only what we need to take your order and deliver it, we don’t track you across the web, and we never sell your information.
Who we are
Beyond The Bottle sells graded perfume oils and perfumery supplies in Nigeria. For anything to do with your information, you can reach us on WhatsApp at +234 813 219 4651. We are the data controller for the information described here, which means we decide what is collected and why.
What we collect
We only collect information you give us when you place an order or send an enquiry:
- Order details. When you build an order in your cart, we collect the name and delivery location you type in, along with the items and total. This is used to prepare the WhatsApp message you send us.
- Bulk enquiries. When you use the bulk form, we collect what you’re asking for, the rough quantity, your delivery location, and any note you add.
- Your messages. When you contact us on WhatsApp, we receive your WhatsApp number and whatever you write to us, so we can confirm and fulfil your order.
- Basic technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information (such as your device’s IP address and browser type) to serve the pages and keep the site secure.
What we don’t do
We think it’s worth being clear about what we don’t collect. We don’t take card or bank details on this website, and we don’t hold accounts or passwords. We don’t run advertising pixels, third-party analytics, or tracking cookies, so we’re not following you around the internet or building a profile on you. We don’t run a marketing mailing list, and we never sell your information to anyone.
Why we use it
We use your information for a small number of clear purposes, and each one has a lawful basis under Nigeria’s Data Protection Act:
- To take and deliver your order — because it’s necessary to do what you asked and complete the purchase (contractual necessity). We don’t need your consent for this, and there’s no box to tick.
- To answer your questions and enquiries — because you contacted us and it’s in both our interests to reply (legitimate interest, and steps towards a possible order).
- To keep proper business records — for our own accounts and to meet tax and record-keeping obligations (legal obligation and legitimate interest).
Who we share it with
We share your information only where it’s needed to complete your order, and only with:
- WhatsApp (Meta). Orders and enquiries are confirmed over WhatsApp, so your message and number are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
- Our delivery partners. We give the courier the name and delivery address needed to get your order to you.
- Google. We keep a record of website orders (name, location, items, and total) in a private Google Sheet so we can track and fulfil them. Google processes this on our behalf as our service provider.
- Our hosting provider. Our website host processes the basic technical data above to serve the site.
We don’t share your information with anyone else, and we don’t sell it.
Cookies and your browser
Your cart is saved in your own browser (in local storage on your device) so your order isn’t lost as you move between pages. That stays on your device and isn’t sent to us as a tracking record. We don’t use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, so there’s no consent banner to click through. If we ever add analytics, we’ll update this policy and ask for your consent first.
How long we keep it
We keep order and enquiry records only as long as we reasonably need them, to run the business and to meet our tax and accounting obligations, and then we remove them. WhatsApp conversations remain in WhatsApp until you or we delete them. You can ask us to delete the information we hold about you at any time (see your rights below).
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you have the right to ask us to:
- See the information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that’s wrong or out of date.
- Delete your information, where we don’t need to keep it for a legal reason. We’ll remove what we hold, though records already shared with a courier or held in WhatsApp are governed by their own policies.
- Object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for a copy in a portable form.
To use any of these, just message us on WhatsApp (+234 813 219 4651). If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Keeping your data safe
We keep the information we hold to a minimum, limit who can see it, and use reputable providers for the tools above. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you share with us.
Children
Our products and this website are meant for adults, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us their information, contact us and we’ll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. The version shown when you place an order is the one that applies to that order. See also our terms & disclaimers.
